A private practice dedicated to helping writers

In thirty-six years of working with writers in the Rittenhouse Writers’ Group and at the University of Pennsylvania, I’ve seen the need for in-depth exploration of the unconscious factors that can prevent writers from delivering their hearts to the page.

I’m a graduate of the Psychotherapy Training Program at the Philadelphia Center of Psychoanalysis. I’m also a writer who has published a novel, a memoir, and many stories and articles.

I’m a writer who understands writers. I can guide you through the fear and avoidance which sometimes intrudes when imagination touches the deeper regions of the psyche. Together we’ll identify problems in your stories or novel and find solutions that help you do your finest work.

The practice is separate from Rittenhouse Writers’ Group. Each is a discrete experience intended to enhance your ability to write fiction.
